GREEK/BALKAN BETROTHAL RING, 18TH-19TH CENTURY, SIZE 9 3/4 5/31/22 10th-11th century ADA well known type said to confer the promise, by a soldier being sent to a distant war, of faithfulness to this betrothed. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, p. 137 for an identical example. Size 9 3 4 with 3. 9mm width slightly rounded face band. The bezel is a ribbon with the remembrance sentiment supported by pierced scrolling foliage. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
